We’re seeking horrifying short stories (1,000–7,500 words) and novellas (17,500–40,000 words) for a new anthology, HORRIFIC: Tales of the Dying and the Dead, releasing October 2026.
What We Want: body, erotic, folk, gothic, historical, humor, Native American, nautical, occult, paranormal, psychological, pulp, quiet, religious, splatterpunk, and supernatural horror.
What We Don’t Want: cosmic, epistolary, post-apocalyptic, or present tense stories.
Payment & Rights:
• $20 flat fee upon publication for first English-language anthology rights (print and ebook).
• Additional $20 flat fee if the anthology is later produced in audio or large print format.
• Authors retain all other rights and copyright ownership of their work.
• No reprints. Original, unpublished stories only.
• No AI-generated or AI-assisted content.

Include a brief cover letter with your name, story title, word count, and short bio. Attach your manuscript in Word format (.doc or .docx), using 12 pt. Times New Roman, double-spaced, with 1″ margins and a .22” first-line indent. Filename: Title_AuthorName.
Submissions that fail to follow these guidelines will be rejected unread.
