There’s a monster beneath the Aurora’s (Sophie Sloan) bed, and it’s hungry. That spells bad news for the young girl’s parents in our exclusive clip from Dust Bunny.

The gateway horror movie will open in theaters on December 12.

In the film, 10-year-old Aurora has a mysterious neighbor who kills real-life monsters. He’s a hit man for hire. So, when Aurora needs help killing the monster she believes ate her entire family, she procures his services.

Suspecting that her parents may have fallen victim to assassins gunning for him, Aurora’s neighbor guiltily takes the job. Now, to protect her, he’ll need to battle an onslaught of assassins — and accept that some monsters are real.

Watch the new clip below, which introduces the very predicament that prompts Aurora to seek help for her monster problem.

Mads Mikkelsen also stars with Sigourney Weaver, David Dastmalchian, Rebecca Henderson, and Sheila Atim.

Hannibal” and “Pushing Daisies” creator Bryan Fuller makes his feature directorial debut from his own script. Though the clip below preserves the monster surprises, the filmmaker previously teased that he opted for practical effects as much as possible.

“It’s partial, a big puppet,” he told Bloody Disgusting. “There’s a massive puppet that we had that was built by Legacy.”

Dust Bunny from Roadside Attractions is rated “R” for “some violence.”

Fuller produces with Basil Iwanyk & Erica Lee of Thunder Road (John Wick, Sicario).
