Verify Your Not Human is an anthology about therian experiences. Stories may be realistic without any fantastical elements, or may result in transformation or some other kind of adapting to a therian identity over the course of the story.
The main character of the story must be therian (or similar forms of identity, such as otherkin) – this can be a “coming out” story as the character recognises themselves as therian, or can be an established identity.
The story should have a strong focus on what it means to be therian – stories where this is incidental or not a focus will likely not be accepted. There are, however, many ways to be therian and all kinds of this will be considered.
Stories should be within 2000 words and 10,000 words. Please enquire with stories above or below this wordcount.
Stories may be of any age rating including explicit 18+ stories.
Stories may be of any genre so long as they include obvious therian (or otherkin, etc.) main characters.
As a variation to our usual guidelines, authors do NOT need to be trans, non binary, or female. Cis male authors are encouraged to submit. Authors do not need to be therian themselves (though will be favoured), but the characters must be.
Payment will be AU 1c/word + 1 contributor’s copy. Authors are able to purchase additional copies at reduced rates.
Original/unpublished stories only for this anthology.
Note that we will not be able to accept stories featuring species from existing media or franchises, unless explicit permission has been given from the copyright holder.
